Training Venues

XC Venues – directions given on relevant training sheet

Ashlands, Brockbridge, Droxford, Southampton SO32 3QT
From the South – through Droxford on A32.  On leaving the village turn right at X roads, opposite garage, onto B2150 signed Soberton.  From the North – over Corhampton roundabout on A32, past Meonstoke turning and then turn left at X roads, as above onto B2150.  Go under railway bridge, ignore turn to right to Soberton and immediately you see The Hurdles pub on the right.  The tarmac driveway up to Ashlands is immediately past the pub entrance on the right.  Go up the hill right to top and turn left into Ashlands driveway – in the summer there may be parking in the field as you reach the top but you will be advised if this is the case.

Bere Meadows, Bere Farm Lane, North Boarhunt, Fareham PO17 6JL.  From A32.  Down A32 into Wickham, turn left at Church as you enter village, up Southwick Road (B2177).  Drive 1.7 miles into North Boarhunt and take Bere Farm Lane on right.  This is poorly marked from Wickham direction so look out for Mud Island, followed by Mount Folly Nurseries on your right and shortly after turn down Bere Farm Lane.  If you overshoot you will see sign to South Hants Golf Club and staggered cross roads sign, you can easily turn here.
From the A3 take the B2177 Portsdown Hill Road, past Fort Widley, across roundabouts until you reach North Boarhunt.  Bere Farm Lane is first left after entering the village and the road name is more easily seen from this direction.
Bere Farm Lane is a private, dead end road with a poor surface to start with (but perfectly driveable).  (As you turn into the lane you will see rather a smart newish house on the left with some white pillars.)  It then improves into a concrete track and you travel 0.5 miles from the main road up Bere Farm Lane.  The post code is correct and will take you to Bere Meadows.  You pass a couple of livery yards before arriving there.  You will be helped to park and although the approach road is single track there is the odd passing place and Sonya will ensure that there is not two way horse vehicle traffic.

Glen Farm Livery Yard, Stroudwood Lane, Upham, Hants SO32 1HG.  Stroudwood Lane is off Mortimers Lane (B3037).  It is a couple of miles out of Bishops Waltham in the Winchester direction.  Best route is go into Lower Upham (from Bishop’s Waltham), turn left by the Alma Pub down Mortimer’s Lane.  After .8 miles turn right into Stroudwood Lane and Glen Farm Livery Yard is a few hundred yards along on the left.

Highbank, Gravel Hill, PO8 0QD (actually sited on Petersfield Lane).  From A3 take Clanfield/Chalton turning.  When you reach Clanfield side of motorway head towards London/A3 past LMK Motors and Hampshire Hog.  Immediately turn left up Petersfield Lane, signed Butser Hill.  Entrance to yard is about 100 yards on right.  From Clanfield, come out of village, past school and turn left up Petersfield Lane, signed Petersfield (not straight on towards Chalton).  Go 1 mile, just past Hogs Lodge Lane you will find entrance to Highbank on the left.

Lower PeakeWarnford SO32 3LA.  Take A32 south, through West Meon and Warnford.  As you leave Warnford there are iron railings on the left; after about half a mile the railings end and you will see yellow posts.  Turn left down drive (grassy triangle as you start), follow narrow road for about ¾ mile, bear left as you come towards farm and head down towards the white house which is Lower Peake.  A one way system operates for boxes & trailers.

Old Milking Parlour, Brewers Lane, East Tisted, Hants SO24 0HQ (Kirsty Oliver’s yard)
Travelling north from the West Meon Hut on the A32, pass The Angel Hotel, with cross roads immediately beyond it and continue .5  mile along the A32 After .5 miles you will see a sign on the left saying West Tisted 1 ¾ miles (just before there is a speed camera sign on another sign warning of road to left.  (If you are coming from the Froxfield/Ropley cross roads it is 1 mile south and on the right.)   Take this turning to the left (unmarked road but it is Brick Kiln Lane) past some fencing and after .5 mile you reach a cross roads marked Cannon Dell, Privett, etc.  Turn right here up Brewers Lane.  Continue .3 miles and Old Milking Parlour is on the right (take second entrance) – you will see smart indoor school and parking is through the gateway just the other side of the barn.  You will have to park carefully but it is all hard standing.

Rozel Stables, Stapleford Lane, Durley SO32 2BU
Go through Durley, past Quob Stables and take the first left – Stapleford Lane,.  Rozel Stables are less than half a mile down on the left.  Plenty of parking.
